The energy was high, the motivation was real, and the passion for youth empowerment was undeniable in the latest SRC Community Corner live forum. We collaborated with the Clarendon Parish Youth Council (CPYC), to showcase the remarkable work of young leaders driving change in their communities. If you missed it, no worries—you can catch the replay here: Watch Now.
Clarendon Parish Youth Council (CPYC): A Powerhouse for Youth Development
The Clarendon Parish Youth Council (CPYC) serves as an umbrella organisation supporting youth-led initiatives across the parish. Under the dynamic leadership of President Termario Daniels, the CPYC has been making waves just seven weeks into 2025, proving that young people are not just the future—they are the present!
Their mission? To create opportunities, drive leadership, and foster community engagement among Clarendon’s youth. And they’re doing just that with a packed calendar of impactful events and initiatives.
Recent Achievements: A Look at (Clarendon) CPYC Initiatives
✅ Leadership Workshop: Young leaders sharpened their skills in mentorship and community service at Glenmuir High School.
✅ Church Service Partnership: A powerful collaboration with the Jamaica Prefects Association, reinforcing the role of youth leadership in faith-based spaces.
✅ Clarendon Youth Awards: In a major milestone, the CPYC expanded its Youth Awards from five to eleven categories, celebrating outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, and volunteerism.
✅ STEM-Based Outreach: Encouraging innovation, CPYC members actively participated in robotics and technology-based community initiatives.

Shalom Tranquility Donating Foundation: Making an Impact
A standout feature of the forum was the inspiring work of the Shalom Tranquility Donating Foundation, founded by Shalom Bryan. This foundation is dedicated to supporting underprivileged youth, providing relief, mentorship, and empowerment opportunities for those in need.
Key Initiatives of the Shalom Foundation
🔹 Dream Builder Scholarship: Aimed at helping youth achieve their educational goals.
🔹 Support for Vulnerable Communities: Outreach programs providing essential resources and assistance.
🔹 Collaborations with CPYC: Working together to expand mentorship and community engagement efforts.
Shalom Bryan’s commitment to uplifting young people has been recognised widely, and her foundation continues to create meaningful change in communities across Clarendon.
Powerful Life Lessons from the Forum
One of the most moving parts of the session came from motivational speaker Zeco Brown, who left us with powerful gems of wisdom on overcoming self-doubt and embracing discipline.
🔹 Speak success over your life. Wake up every morning and affirm: “I will become a pilot.” “I will start my business.” “I will make a difference.”
🔹 Discipline over motivation. Motivation fades, but discipline carries you through even when the journey gets tough.
🔹 Stay in your lane. Don’t compare your journey to others—sometimes moving slowly is the best way to reach your goal.
🔹 Check your direction. Like a submarine, working hard in the wrong direction leads nowhere. Keep assessing your path to success.
🔹 Failure is part of success. “I failed my way to success.” Don’t fear failure—use it as a stepping stone.
🔹 Biblical Inspiration: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
🔹 Trust the Process: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
These words served as a powerful reminder that success is not just about talent but about persistence, faith, and consistency.
